![]() ![]() We ate at the tiny restaurant at Chann and the food was really excellent. It's good value - we stayed in the Riverside Suite and it was a lovely room with outdoor shower and all-wood walls and furnishings. The locals are charming and friendly (as all Thais tend to be) and will point you in the right direction. Finding the hotel is a mini-adventure but it's also a great way to experience a different Bangkok neighbourhood. This small riverside hotel is a great place to watch the longtail boats speed by, although it can be noisy. Well, the craziness continues, but it's on water, not on the roads. There are no other restaurants within walking distance so if they offered Thai food to a high standard would have a captive market.…Īs a Bangkok resident, it was lovely to find somewhere away from the craziness. The restaurant was disappointing for what is supposed to be a 4* boutique hotel. The staff, whilst friendly and professional had very limited English. The water taxi is approximately a 10-15 walk, through the alleyways which are not easy to navigate, especially after dark or during the heat of the daytime (we got lost the first time). You are a long way from the city centre and although the hotel will arrange taxis to take you into the city you will struggle to get a taxi willing to take you back. There is no direct vehicle access, so taxis will drop you off in a nearby car park and the security guard will transfer your luggage via the narrow alleyways. Whilst the ambience and cleanliness could not be faulted there are quite a few drawbacks as previous reviewers have mentioned. Beautifully designed hotel replicating the style of a typical Thai riverside house the rooms are spacious and clean. Lovely location overlooking the Bangkok Noi canal where it joins with Chao Phraya River.
